Last week I had the opportunity to attend a great program offered by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) discussing the importance of controlling humidity in buildings and how that can affect the occupants’ health.  Studies have shown that we should keep the humidity between 40% and 60% at all times to significantly reduce the spread of various bacteria and viruses.  Engineers already do a pretty good job of keeping humidity low through the air conditioning system but don’t typically do anything to humidify the air during cold/dry times of the year.  I actually wrote about this topic about a year ago and this program offered a helpful refresher and reinforced the need to control humidity in buildings.

We are also proud to announce our sponsorship of the 7th Annual Jackrabbit 5K race. The proceeds from this event go towards the purchase of athletic shoes for community neighbors in need.  For more information, you can read our full announcement or see more about participating as a team or becoming a sponsor yourself at the the Jackrabbit website.
